Business Recognition

There are number of ways the Melbourne Business Awards sought to recognise local businesses:

• Business of the Year Award – local industrial, manufacturing or engineering sector business that were able to demonstrate success and innovation in their field of expertise.
• Service Excellence Award – local businesses who provided services to industrial, manufacturing or engineering sector business and were able to demonstrate success and innovation in their field of expertise.
• Behind the Roller Door – local industrial, manufacturing or engineering sector businesses that utilised innovative processes or had an interesting story to tell.

There were no hard and fast guidelines for nomination, rather the spirit on which the Melbourne Business Awards was founded - i.e. success and initiative.  The Melbourne Business Awards was looking for exciting, innovative small to medium sized companies based in the South East Region of Melbourne, generally, who were successful, displayed initiative and most importantly had an interesting story to tell.  

Nominations for each of the above recognition programmes were received from a range of business partners of the Melbourne Business Awards through their business interaction, and it was also possible for individual businesses to nominate businesses they know, or for businesses to self-nominate.
