Business success anything but child’s play for Business of the Year nominees

A Cheltenham toymaker challenging giants including Lego and Mattel and which is ranked 4th largest toy business in the huge US market is among the companies vying for the 2015 Melbourne Business Awards Business of the Year title.

Moose Toys will challenge other manufacturers including leading building products maker Casafico and specialist boat builder Composites Constructions for the annual award, to be handed out on Friday, December 4th.

Other nominees in the race for the award include packaging companies CMTP, Rollspack and Versatile Technology

Mordialloc-based diary producer Tempo Foods plus marketing and photographic creative services business Nulab Group complete the eight businesses nominated for the Melbourne Business Awards, now in their 23rd year.

Privacy Act Reform

Does your business have an annual turnover of greater than $3 million and:

  • use external IT providers, off-site data storage and/or cloud computing?
  • outsource business functions to local or overseas contractors?
  • send direct marketing communications to customers or clients?
  • send customer or client information overseas?

If “yes” to any of the above, then the new Privacy laws (commencing 12 March 2014) will apply to your business.  Even if the turnover is less than $3 million, you may choose or be required by your trading partners to comply.
