Privacy Act Reform

Does your business have an annual turnover of greater than $3 million and:

  • use external IT providers, off-site data storage and/or cloud computing?
  • outsource business functions to local or overseas contractors?
  • send direct marketing communications to customers or clients?
  • send customer or client information overseas?

If “yes” to any of the above, then the new Privacy laws (commencing 12 March 2014) will apply to your business.  Even if the turnover is less than $3 million, you may choose or be required by your trading partners to comply.
