LIFT Program: 

The Local Industry Fund for Transition (LIFT) is part of the Victorian Government’sTowards Future Industries: Victoria’s Automotive Transition Plan External link (opens in same window), which aims to support workers, communities and businesses affected by the closure of large scale passenger manufacturing in the State. LIFT aims to create sustainable jobs and contribute to the economic development of Melbourne's North, West and South-East and the Geelong Region. This will be achieved through supporting capital investment by businesses located, or wishing to locate, operations in these areas to build each region’s economic base and create sustainable jobs. Up to $2 million is available to support job creating projects in Melbourne's North, West and South-East and the Geelong Region. 


FIMP Program: 

The Future Industries Manufacturing Program offers funding of up to $500,000 to Victorian-­based companies to implement new manufacturing technologies and processes, providing a critical foundation for growth.


Federal Government Next Gen Program (round 2 closing in April 2016):

The Next Generation Manufacturing Investment Programme provides grants to encourage manufacturing investment in South Australia and Victoria. The grants support capital investment projects in areas of manufacturing with demonstrated growth potential. Projects must take place at a manufacturing site in either South Australia or Victoria. The grants available under Round 2 of the programme:

  • range from $500,000 to $2.5 million
  • are capped at up to one third of eligible project costs
  • support projects for up to a 3 year period.
