2016 Wrap Up

Celebrating success at this time is a great way to wrap up a year. Again the Melbourne Business Awards is proud to have provided a platform to showcase and recognise successful businesses and people throughout 2016.

Last Friday we celebrated by announcing the “best of the best” at our Gala breakfast.  This year our very talented MC Kamahl Barhouch not only led the proceedings, but in a surprise turn of events was also our guest speaker. Kam was ably introduced by a past Chair and the previous MC of 13 years Rod Shell, who has returned to support the MBA family after a short break.

A big thank you to all those who have contributed this year – to all the Award Nominees - Armstrong Flooring, Not a Trace Foods ,Atlite Skylights, Binq, DTB Pumps, Zenith Interiors, Tomcar, Illusion Gas Log Fires- we thank you for your participation and congratulate you all – what an incredible group of companies that were recognised.  All so worthy of what these awards stand for-the Recognition of Excellence!!

Special congratulations go to our MBA Business of the Year Award winner for 2016 - Zenith Interiors. The trophy was presented by the newly elected Mayor of the City of Kingston Cr David Eden.

The Innovation Award was announced and presented to Tomcar by Sue Byrne from AusIndustry, sponsors of the award.

To Hannah Wicke from Ashfords, the 2016  Young Achiever Award winner our congratulations and to all the amazing Young Achiever nominees we commend you for your efforts.

Our inaugural Business Service Excellence Award winner went to Atticus Health. Our congratulations to them and all the nominees.

To all our winners, your acceptance speeches validate why the MBA continues to exist after 24 years. Be proud of your recognition – as with all the nominees, you deserve it!

Thanks to our Executive Officer Kim Mastrowicz, all our partners, members and supporters for a great effort and your continued support. Planning is already well underway for our 25th anniversary year in 2017 with some exciting initiatives. We look forward to seeing you at our first breakfast for 2017 on Friday 3rd March.

I hope all who attended our breakfasts this year gained something positive from the events, had a laugh, were awakened, motivated, stimulated and moved to “make a difference”

I wish you and your families a safe, happy, and relaxing festive season.
